What is Walk & Roll?
Walk & Roll is an annual celebration of the Gillette Children's community bringing together Gillette patients, family members, friends, employees and other supporters/community partners. Everyone is invited and welcome to join us for this free event on Saturday, September 21 at Viking Lakes in Eagan, MN. This is also an important fundraising event.
-
Is there a registration fee or fundraising minimum to participate?
Walk & Roll is a free community event with the option to fundraise to support services for Gillette patients and families. Advance registration is highly recommended, although, day-of-event registrations are also welcome!
What does that mean for you? You can be a walker or a roller and a Gillette ambassador. Reach out to your networks via social media, email, snail mail or phone, share why Gillette is important to you, and invite donations. Fundraising is easier than you might think. Something that helps build momentum is to be your own first donor. When people see you've donated, they'll be more likely to join you.
Setting up a fundraising page is easy. There's no minimum amount needed to fundraise. Each and every donation will make a difference and is much appreciated.

What does the money raised help support?
As a nonprofit hospital, donor support is an essential part of Gillette's mission to ensure every patient who enters our door has access to the same high level of expert care, regardless of their ability to pay. With your help, Gillette is opening minds to new possibilities for every child in our care through pioneering treatment—some of which is unreimbursed by insurance, but critical to the physical, emotional, psychological and social well-being of our patients and families.
Additionally, your gifts will also fuel cutting-edge research that leads to ground-breaking treatment options—not only for kids treated at Gillette, but for children with rare and complex conditions around the world.

How do I receive this year's event shirt?
Secure your limited-edition Gillette Children's Walk & Roll t-shirt by registering by September 1, 2024! When registering you will be prompted to select whether or not you would like a t-shirt and then to select a size. Those registering after September 1 are still eligible to receive a t-shirt, but we are not able to guarantee availability of your desired size.
-
Do I need to be on a team in order to participate?
Nope! While many of our participants do participate on a team made up of co-workers, neighbors, family members or friends, you do not need to be on a team nor create one to join us! Simply register as an individual.
-
Where is parking for the event?
All parking at Viking Lakes is free. There is a flat surface lot available for ADA parking. We ask everyone not needing accessible parking to park in the Vikings Museum parking ramp.
-
Will the event continue if there is bad weather?
Yes! This is a rain or shine event. If there is moisture in the forecast, please come prepared with your raincoat and/or umbrella.
-
What if I receive donations via cash or check?
Check and cash donations are welcome, although we prefer donations be made online via credit card or a check made out to Gillette Children's Foundation. For all cash and check donations please contact events@gillettechildrens.com to make arrangements for us to receive the donation and to ensure the donation is added to your fundraising total. Thank you!
